Montessori

As the Montessori system does not have any formal tests, evaluation is a continuous process. A selection of certain evaluation procedures are incorporated into the Montessori system. These reflect the progress the child has shown in specific areas like Scholarly skills and Social, Physical and Emotional Development.

Regular attendance is mandatory for the student. Full attendance merits an award. However, 75% attendance is compulsory for promotion to the next class.

 

            Promotion Policy (For Classes: I to X)

Attendance

(a) 75% attendance is mandatory for promotion to the nexthigher class.

(b) 15% shortage in attendance can be condoned by the Principal on account of Medical grounds (To be validated with Medical Certificate)

(c) Case of a candidate with attendance less than 60% will be put up for condonation to the Principal tor consideration.

  1. In order to be promoted to the next higher class, a student must secure 33% marks in the aggregate and a minimum of 33% in each subject during Annual Examination and Internal Assessmentas well.
  2. A student scoring less than 33% (Annual Exam/ Cumulative) in 02 or more subjects will be detained in the same class.
  3. A student scoring less that 33% marks (Annual-Exam/Cumulative) in one subject is eligible for Improvement Examination. A student appearing for Improvement Exam must score 33% marks in the Exam in order to be promoted to the next higher class, failing which he/she will be place in DETAINEDCATEGORY.

 

Mismuster Policy (For Classes: I to V)

  1. A student missing a test or exam due to participation in the Inter-School Competitions (Sports / Co-scholastic) will be eligible for Mismuster Exam in the concerned subject.
  2. For a student missing a test in a Term for being Medically Indisposed (minimum of 2 days leave), the marks of the other UT in that term will be taken into Consideration. However if a student misses both the UTs in a Term he/she will be marked ABSENT and will be awardee Zero.
  3. A student missing a test due to death in the immediate family will be eligible for Mismuster Exam in the respective subject on submission of application within a day or two to the school. The school authority has the right to ascertain the facts in its own way to arrive at a conclusion for according the Mismuster Exam.
  4. A student missing a test due to marrfage in the family, travelling outstation or any other personal reasons, other than the stated above will not be eligible for Mismuster Exam in the concerned subject. The Report Card will show the status of Missed test as ABSENT.

Note: The school policy stated as above is subject to submission of a medical certificate from a registered practitioner along with an application addressed to the Principal, within 48 hours of joining school.

 

Mismuster Examination Policy Classes VI- X

CASE-1 Missed a Periodic test due to participation in the Inter-School Competitions (Sports/Co-Scholastic)

POLICY Eligible for Mismuster Exam in the concerned subject.

CASE-2 Missed a Periodic test for being medically indisposed (e.g. ill, accident or fracture-minimum of two days leave).

POLICY. a. Missed one Periodic Test (PT) in any subject in a term, the marks of other PT/Activities of that term will be taken into consideration.

  1. Missed two PTs in the same subject in a term, to be marked ABSENT and awarded ZERO. NOTE. The school policy stated above is subject to submission of an application the same day through school email and Medical Certificate from a registered practitioner along with an application addressed to the Principal, within 48Hrs of joining School.

CASE-3 Missed a Periodic test due to death in the immediate family.

POLICY Eligible for Mismuster exam in the respective subject. Subject to Submission of application through school email within a day to the school. The school authority has the right to ascertain the facts in its own way to arrive at a conclusion according to the Mismuster Exam.

CASE-4 Missed a test due to marriage in the family, travelling outstation or any other personal reasons other than stated above.

POLICY.   There will be no Mismuster Examination. The Report Card will show the status of missed test as 'ABSENT'

CASE-5  If Half Yearly/ Annual Exam is missed in any subject/s, eligible students to be tested along with the Compartment Cases.(Cases 1,2 and 3).
